TUESDAY, July 30 [Virtual]: IIDA WI Book Club - Chapter 2
CONGRATS to Amee Lapke and Jennifer Schommer for winning the door prize from our Annual Meeting!

Join IIDA WI’s Book Club! In response to national discourse, our second book selection* encourages our members and design community to reflect, learn and participate. So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo provides a thorough examination of race in America and the tools to talk constructively about race. We will hold space for uncomfortable conversations with the knowledge that discomfort talking about race is a symptom of a “color blind” society. Let discomfort fuel you towards change, growth, new perspectives, and equitable action. Virtual discussion will be held as an open and thought-provoking space to connect and discuss.
Reading is encouraged, but not required to join! If interested in supplemental content, search author Ijeoma Oluo on Spotify to listen to podcast interviews, follow Ijeoma Oluo on social media, and refer to IIDA WI’s Equity and Social Action resources for related content.
A virtual link will be sent to all who register here on our website. The event is free, but you will need to purchase your own digital or printed copy of the book.
Questions or book suggestions? Contact [email protected].
*For members that attended Book Club – Chapter 1, we will discuss Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez in a later session. We felt the urgency to make space for honest conversations about race and racism in America and selected So You Want to Talk About Race to aid in this critical discussion. Thank you!
