The Mount Mary University Interior Architecture & Design Department is having senior presentations on Thursday, May 11th from 10:30 - 4:00 and Friday, May 12th from 9:45 - 2:30. All presentations will take place at Mount Mary University, in Stiemke Hall located in Notre Dame Hall. https://mtmary.edu/campuslife/ After each student presentation, guests will be able to explore the project in virtual reality. Presentations last between 20-30 minutes with time for Q&A and VR exploration after. See attached file for presentation topics and schedule. Each project is a powerful example of how design is more than just picking colors; instead, it shows how design transforms spaces to make the world a better place. |
Each spring, students prepare a portfolio show to exhibit their breadth of work from the Architectural Drafting / Construction Technology, Interior Design, and NEW this year, Kitchen + Bath programs. We welcome industry professionals, family & friends to join us for an amazing show and reception on May 16 at the Pewaukee campus. We can't wait for you to see what these hard-working students have accomplished over the course of their programs! |

Join interior designers from around the state at “Convo at the Capitol - Change brings opportunity!” hosted by ASID-WI and IIDA-WI on Thursday, May 18th. The event starts with a meeting at the Capitol in Room 415NW. We will hear from legislators who are crucial to enacting 2021 WI Act 195 before learning how to connect with legislators. The day culminates in a cocktail hour hosted by The Firm, LLC.
Registration at Eventbrite.
The tentative agenda is:
1:30 - Doors Open/Check-In
2:00 - Introduction, Guest speakers, Instructions on connecting with legislators
3:00 - Knock on your legislators’ door!
4:30 - Cocktail hour hosted by The Firm at The Post at 24 S Carroll Street, Madison, WI
We look forward to providing interior designers an opportunity to meet with legislators and hope you join us. Interior design students, educators, emerging professionals, and professionals are encouraged to come.

Monona Terrace is seeking architects, planners and landscape architects, interior designers, or an adult interested in design to assist with a school program on Wednesday, June 7, 11:30-12:45. A group of 85 4th graders from the Fox Point area will be doing a tabletop activity centered on envisioning a new Monona shoreline park.
After a brief orientation by the group organizer, the students will individually or in pairs build one element for the park out of simple materials. They can choose from a list or come up with their own. A line drawing representing the Monona lakeshore will be at each table of 8 and students will place their element on the drawing.
Facilitators will assist in:
· Helping students decide what element of the shoreline they would like to build and support construction. Just a few examples: boathouse, amphitheater, boardwalk
· Bringing more construction materials and supplies to the tables as necessary.
· Using a few prompts (provided by the organizers) to the kids as they consider where to place their constructions.
We are asking volunteers to arrive at 11am for a debriefing before the group arrives. Please contact Heather Sabin at [email protected] if you’re interested in participating.
