Seeking Student Liaison!

Posted by britt on Mar. 20, 2019  /   0

IIDA WI seeks a Student Liaison to join the Board of Directors for the upcoming 2019-2020 year.

In this position, you will be involved with promoting and educating design students across the state about IIDA and the events and opportunities available through student membership. Not only will the student liaison be a main contact to connect with instructors, professors and students at each campus location, but will also report to the Board of Directors (BOD) of various student center activities and initiatives.  Additionally, the elected candidate will be tasked with increasing involvement and volunteerism among students at IIDA Wisconsin premiere events (Bag Bash, Career Day, Celebrate in Design, etc.).

Engagement with the BOD is, at minimum, a call into the monthly meetings or emailed reports prior to each meeting. The student liaison is more than welcome to attend meetings in-person, however this is not a requirement given class schedules and meeting locations.

Ideal candidates should have a strong passion for design education and campus outreach, and seek to enhance their leadership skills and involvement with IIDA. If you are interested in joining a fun group of professionals immersed in the greater Wisconsin area design community, you are encouraged to submit your resume (including professor or professional IIDA member reference) and cover letter to the BOD for consideration by April 15th.  Please detail what you want to accomplish as a student liaison and why you’d be a great addition to the board.

Submissions can be directed to Zach Denton, Vice President of Student Members at [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you!

The fine print:

You must be an IIDA student member.

The position will be selected by April 30, 2019.

The new board will be sworn in at the Annual Meeting, Design Speaks.

A $500 scholarship is awarded upon the successful completion of the selected candidate’s year of service.

The Student Liaison is a non-voting board position.
